Landscaping of an urban courtyard
A cozy atmosphere and a built-in spa
This landscaping project in Longueuil on Montreal's South Shore transforms a small urban courtyard into an intimate yet structured outdoor living space. Already enveloped by mature vegetation, the site offered significant potential, which the design reveals rather than constrains.

The concept is based on highlighting the existing green space, treated as a living painting visible from inside the residence. The intervention revolves around very large concrete slabs, the rhythm of which is punctuated by river pebble inserts, creating a fluid and contemporary circulation.
The design of a covered patio acts as the central element of the project. Directly connected to the garden, it allows for extended use of the outdoor space, regardless of the weather. The integration of a linear fireplace and a dining area reinforces this concept of extending the living space.
The built-in spa blends discreetly into the design. Its level placement allows for complete visual immersion in the surrounding vegetation, enhancing the feeling of privacy and tranquility.
The entire project is based on a balance between mineral and plant life, structure and softness, openness and intimacy — a coherent approach for an urban landscape design with high use value.
