Situé sur les flancs du Mont-Royal, le projet Douce Farniente transforme une grande cour urbaine à la topographie complexe en un espace de vie extérieur structuré et raffiné. Initialement perçue comme une contrainte, la dénivellation du terrain a été exploitée pour créer un aménagement en paliers mettant en valeur la piscine et les différentes zones de détente.
The concept is based on a clear organization of spaces: a contemporary swimming area, inviting terraces, and a lounge area under a pergola, all integrated into a dense and soothing green environment. This layout allows for a seamless flow through the garden while offering rich visual perspectives from the residence.
The use of high-quality materials, such as wood and architectural paving, combined with carefully considered lighting, gives the project a warm ambiance both day and night. This project was also awarded second prize at the 45th Landscape Design Competition in 2024, in the Backyard category ($75,000 to $250,000).
